LAMBDABOARD® is made from polyisocyanurate (PIR), a high-performance insulation material. It’s produced using advanced technology and contains a special blowing agent with zero impact on the ozone layer and very low global warming potential — making it a smart choice for the environment too.
LAMBDABOARD® is a strong, rigid board that can be used in many different ways — under roof coverings, inside cavity walls, or under floors. It’s a great way to improve comfort and reduce energy use.
LAMBDABOARD® is a polyisocyanurate (PIR/Polyiso) thermal insulation board manufactured on a continuous laminator and locally produced in South Africa. LAMBDABOARD® ensures your building meets not only legal requirements but also your expectations with regard to sustainability and energy efficiency over the lifespan of the building. LAMBDABOARD® has a low thermal conductivity that offers optimal thermal performance at minimal thickness.
LAMBDABOARD® is available with a variety of facing options to suit your project needs. The white mineral facing provides a paintable surface, while the Gunmetal Grey and Obsidian Black options feature integrated pigments for a pre-coloured finish. Agricultural-grade facings are also available for more robust applications.
LAMBDABOARD® is uniquely positioned in the market—there are no true alternatives to this PIR/polyiso rigid insulation board.
LAMBDABOARD® reduces heat flow in and out of the building, helping maintain a stable indoor temperature - cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
Thanks to its exceptionally low thermal conductivity LAMBDABOARD® reduces the energy needed to keep your building comfortable, helping cut heating and cooling costs.
LAMBDABOARD®'s Coated Glass Facer (CGF) is fully paintable with your choice of paint. Just follow the paint manufactureres application guidelines. Its thermoset structure is resistant to common construction solvents like paints, adhesives and alkalines.
LAMBDABOARD® offers the highest aged R-values peer board thickness. This means you can achieve excellenet thermal performance with less material.
Lightweight, dimensionally stable, and with excellent spanning capabilities, LAMBDABOARD® is quick and easy to install - whether for professional installers or DIY projects.
LAMBDABOARD® can be easily installed in both new builds and existing buildings - either between or under purlins. Support sections should be fitted to match the board thickness and span.
LAMBDABOARD® comes in various thicknesses and lengths to meet thermal requirements and building codes. Boards can be cut to custom lengths to suit your project.
Standard sizes and facing options are kept in stock at all branches, ensuring quick and consistent supply for your project needs.
Choose from a variety of facings to suit different applications and project requirements.

Approximately 70% of a building’s heat loss occurs through the roof, highlighting its significance in energy inefficiency. Proper insulation and ventilation are essential to prevent this heat escape, which helps lower heating costs and improve energy efficiency. Addressing roof heat loss can significantly enhance indoor comfort and maintain consistent temperatures.
