What is LAMBDABOARD®

LAMBDABOARD® is a polyisocyanurate (PIR/Polyiso) thermal insulation board manufactured on a continuous laminator and locally produced in South Africa. LAMBDABOARD® ensures your building meets not only legal requirements but also your expectations with regard to sustainability and energy efficiency over the lifespan of the building. LAMBDABOARD® has a low thermal conductivity that offers optimal thermal performance at minimal thickness.

LAMBDABOARD® comes in a variety of facing options to suit your project requirements. The white mineral facing of the LAMBDABOARD® allows for a paintable surface, whereas the Gun Metal Grey and Obsidian Black Lambdaboard is pre-coloured using pigment into the facing, allowing a coloured finish. Agricultural-facing options are available should your project require a robust application.

LAMBDABOARD® is generically unique, there are no alternatives to LAMBDABOARD®, (PIR/Polyiso) Rigid insulation board.

RIGIBOND 5
RIGIBOND 5
RIGIBOND 5

RIGIBOND 5 is a two-component filled polyurethane adhesive used to bond LAMBDABOARD®, internal insulation cores and other suitable substrates, including concrete, metal sheeting, bitumen torch on membranes etc. The adhesive does not contain any solvents and is VOC free. This adhesive is suitable for batch mixing. The adhesive can withstand constant exposure to temperatures up to 100 ºC.

Application
  • Ensure that all substrates are free of water and are clean of any residue. The mixed system can then be applied onto the relevant surface/substrate.
  • The glue can then be spread out using a fine-toothed trowel. The spread rate is ±500g per m2.
  • Once the glue has been evenly spread out, the relevant substrate can then be bonded.
  • Sufficient bonding occurs after a minimum of 4 hours and full bonding after 12 hours; this depends greatly on the ambient and substrate temperatures.

Obtain estimates for your potential energy savings and the projected temperature variances between outdoor and indoor environments. These estimations are based on various configurations of LAMBDABOARD® insulation in a hypothetical scenario without the presence of an HVAC system or roofing insulation. Furthermore, you can anticipate reduction in your energy expenses, stated in Rand per square meter, on an annual basis by incorporating LAMBDABOARD® insulation whilst aligning with the SANS 10400 XA ED2 regulations.

How does LAMBDABOARD® help you meet the south african government regulations

70% of heat loss is found in the roof structure

Approximately 70% of a building’s heat loss occurs through the roof, highlighting its significance in energy inefficiency. Proper insulation and ventilation are essential to prevent this heat escape, which helps lower heating costs and improve energy efficiency. Addressing roof heat loss can significantly enhance indoor comfort and maintain consistent temperatures.
